Every cloud has a silver lining:

Samir Mansuri

While studying in Z.J.Patel Nutan High School, Village Kurali, during my 8th, 9th and 10th class, I learnt basic of computer and got excellent exposure . I did not know ABC of computer while I was in my 6th and 7th class. Even was not aware as to how to switch on and switch off the computer. I started feeding text after having my exposure in Open Office writer program.

When I was in class 10, I was awarded the Desktop computer by the Cosmo Foundation, as I got the highest marks in computer subject among 212 students of my school. Because of this motivation and support, today I have learnt independent skill on Photo Shop. I am the close associate to my father, who is amateur photographer. On every social occasion, whether it is marriage, festival celebration, school function, I fully support and assist my father and rework on photographs in Photoshop.

Further I also attended Spoken English class during summer holidays organized by CF. It has improved my word power and confidence. From my early childhood, I am the heart patient and I had undergone the surgery. Under the circumstances, as I am unable to pursue any discipline that involves hard work.

I got opportunity to meet managers from CF and they encouraged me to follow my passion to do engineering. After completion of my 10th class, I did diploma electrical engineering from Parul Institute, Vadodara. My basic skills of Computer and English which I learnt from Cosmo Foundation helped me a lot. Now I have joined degree course in Electrical Engineering and after completing the course I wish to join Cosmo Films who has been my mentor.

My both younger sisters also did computer classes with CF. Me and my father do photography and videography of all CF programs. It has given us recognition and dignity.

Sumaiya Diwan

Sumaiya Diwan, a student of Class 8th in the Primary school of village Vemar was an active participant for English class being run by the Cosmo Foundation. She had developed keen interest in English subject, communicates in English with small sentences, can read and write basic English. She teaches her parents – please, sorry, thank you etc. Her parents are indeed proud of her.

In school, everybody knows her as Sarpanch, as she participates in all the activities with great enthusiasm. She also serves as a peer educator teaching English program to students, whose performance is below average. She says our school teacher teaches us lesson from the text book and completes the government syllabus.

CF teaches basic concepts and practical applicability of English in day-to-day life. This combination of learning is very important for us as a student. CF has made many students speak English, who were not able to write alphabets. They have motivated students to attend the school regularly. CF teaches in groups where students, who are below average, get special attention and learning opportunities.

My parents were not very keen that I pursue my further education after class IIX. But after seeing my confidence and interest in education and seeing Cosmo Computer Award function in my village, their perception has completely changed. They have ensured my admission in IXth class.

Thus CF builds dreams for young daughters of our village. I am quite hopeful, as long as the sun spreads its rays on the earth, till that time CF exists perpetually for many generations and spreads its wings on education.
